Hi there.

This site was designed, created and still maintained by Tyk -- that's me -- since 1997; ever since I first came across a 'Learn HTML in 14 Days' book by Laura Lemay. At that time I was still doing designs in print media and the internet world was new to me. One fine day, out of curiosity, I took this book off the shelf of the office's mini library and started to read. From knowing next to nothing about building a homepage, I learnt step by step, bit by bit. Soon I was building my very first page out of nothing more than a couple of typed tags in a Notepad document. It was an exhilarating experience to build something in such a "primitive" method. I guess if you had your first homepage-building experience by using a fancy software, you'll never understand the feeling of utter satisfaction I felt.

You're probably wondering why I'm boring you with all this ancient history. Well, simply becuz it brought about the very first existence of this Mickey Rourke tribute site. Since I needed some hands-on as I read the HTML book, I built, at first juz one page for practice. And I thought I might was well put in something I will enjoy looking at; thus I put in Mickey Rourke's picture. From there, my interest caught on like a nest on fire. I found Geocities, learnt how to get my own space and pushed my webpage online -- into the world out there for others to see. I have joined the internet community!

Now, after a few revamps, this tribute site is still around. To see the number of hits on the counter jump from a mere zero to the five digit amount it has now, I know my efforts were worth.... Afterall, who else can be bothered to listen to me rave about Mickey, other than Mickey fans? Thank you, for visiting my Simply Mickey Rourke unofficial tribute page. Who is Tyk?

Juz an ordinary person from a tiny, tropical country -- Singapore. I love cats but I have 3 male Zebra Finches as pets, and I am blessed with regular visits from a beautiful neighbourhood stray cat. She has learnt not to bother my finches. Sweet thing she is.

Note: I do not represent Mickey Rourke. I do not have any connections with him. I do not know him personally; c'mon, I've never even met him before and I doubt I ever will. I mean, what are the chances of me walking down the street on the other side of the globe and bumping into him? Not that I really want to meet him anyway. What can I say to him that he hasn't already heard before? Besides, it's been a while. The fascination and expectations are long gone, leaving only admiration for what he delivers, and respect for his perseverance.
